Beria reminded Stalin of a ghoul when he brought good news. "Our agent KOCH has informed us of a secret meeting between Marshall and Hoover where they discussed the foothold we have seized in the White House." Stalin looked up from the report, "KOCH? Isn't he the one descended from the greatest of their slaveholding generals?"

"Just the one."

Stalin grunted, "Well, history has its jokes." Beria's laugh was positively lewd. Stalin cut it off, "But Marshall is dangerous, just as dangerous as Hoover. We do not need another Tukhachevskiy to upset our plans in America. Can't you do something about him, Lavarenti Paviovich?"

"Of course, Comrade Stalin. He is travelling to the war zone, a very dangerous place."
