From the first Knucklehead engine on, Harley-Davidson has generated as many adventures as it has clocked miles on the open road. Harley-Davidson Lore: 1903-1965 offers a rare glimpse into the historical art and lore inspired by this legendary machine over its first half-century of riding. The sepia-toned images - both classic and rare - have been culled from the famed Pohlman Collection, an exclusive library of archival images revered by Harley" fans around the world. Historian Herbert Wagner reveals the untold stories behind these images, creating a nostalgic scrapbook that captures the adventure and pioneering spirit of Harley-Davidson.

Herbert Wagner started to ride in 1971 when, after doing exhaustive research and collecting Harley-Davidson parts and accessories, he put together his own vintage bike. He has studied and written about Harley history for over a decade and has contributed numerous articles to magazines, including the American Rider, Rider, and the Enthusiast. He lives in Wisconsin, where he rides his Harley year-round, through rain, sleet, and snow.
